"Food for Summer Thought"

The phrase "Food for Thought" has been around forever, but what does that really mean? That's a great topic to ponder!

Since it's summertime, I actually think "Food for Summer Thought" is more appropriate. So many thoughts and feelings are linked to summer foods specifically. For example, our consumption of watermelon (we don't normally eat that in the winter), and if we do, does it give you that same feeling as it does in the summer?

Does food actually make you happy, whatever season it may be, and does it make you think better? Do we just enjoy eating good food for the taste alone, or does it satisfy cravings in our brain, therefore allowing us to feel better emotionally?

I think they go hand-in-hand. However, it doesn't really matter to me one way or the other, since I like to make people happy by enjoying my (sometimes off the wall) creations. Great recipes were made by experimenting and making them your own, I believe.

So on to my favorite summer recipes, one of which is "Spicy Zucchini-Tomato Salsa.

All of the time-

consuming planting, watering, weeding, etc. becomes worth it to be able to incorporate all of the freshest ingredients in this recipe.

You can make this salsa as spicy as you like by adjusting the red pepper flakes and jalapeno. I personally like it a little zippy!

I guess you could say this will satisfy your salsa craving, therefore making you happy!

Enjoy!
